The AI have been very competitive in their Championship section with all the first four games decided by a couple of scores or less. The most recent home game against Craughwell resulted in a 1-06 to 1-02 win which is relatively comfortable for these games. This left the team with two wins and two losses and still very much in contention for the knockout phases. Unfortunately, an usually heavy defeat last Monday away to a strong Kilnadeema Leitrim side 3-07 to 1-04, means the remaining games are all important in terms of qualification. Next Monday, the team faces a return bout against Meelick-Eyrecourt. The teams met already in the Toddie Byrne cup and despite Mágh Cuilinn leading for most of the second half, it was the Eyrecourt lads who got the decisive scores at the end to win out narrowly Our lads will be anxious to turn the tables on Monday. The game throws in in Baile Doite at 6.30pm.

Our team in the C competition have found the standard much tougher than expected. They have faced first teams from Sarsfields, Ballinderreen, Pearses and Rahoon. This weekend they face another club with two teams, Clarinbridge in an away fixture on Monday night at 7.30pm.
