Packed Easter Schedule for CIMC

Fixtures seem to be like buses, you wait two weeks for one and 5 come along together. After a couple of quiet weekends, CIMC will be competing in 4 grades and 5 matches over the next few days.

First up, tomorrow night (Thursday) the Seniors tune up up after a two week lay off, with a challange against Carnmore in Carnmore at 7pm. Having failed by the minimum margin to get a result from the last game at home to Sarsfields, they will be anxious to record some points on the long and early road to Woodford for the League game against Tommie Larkins at 11am.

Before that Senior League game on Sunday, we are back in Carnmore again on Friday evening, for the semi-final of the U21 B1 Championship against Kiltormer. The game is probably the big one of the weekend as CIMC try to get back to their first U21 final since 2007. They lost narrowly to Portumna last time out and will be hoping to be that bit sharper on Friday. Throw in is at 5pm.

On Saturday morning at 11am, our U14 team will play a last 16 game in the Toddie Byrne Cup against Cappataggle in Cappataggle. The team without some regulars had good workout against a Micheal Breathnachs seletion that was unable to field a full regulation team, but made up the numbers for a game with overage players. The Maigh Cuilinn team were always in control and won comfortably. Cappataggle away will prove a sterner test.

On Saturday evening, CIMC will have home advantage in the Junior League. This is the opening game in the Junior B league campaign. CIMC gained special entry to this competition to provide sufficient games for our aspiring Senior players. Committment will be tested with a 6.30pm away fixture sandwiched between the U21 game and an early start on Sunday morning.

On Easter Monday, our Minors will be the first to test the refurbished surface in Baile Doite as they open their Championship campaign with a home tie against Micheal Cusacks. The Minors will hopefully have benefitted from the good run the U21's have been on and there will be no ill effects from the game on Friday. That game starts at 3pm.
