"Annual" Championship Clash against Abbey' on Saturday

Mágh Cuilinn resume their 2017 Championship campaign against Abbeyknockmoy in Pearse Stadium at 4.30pm on Saturday, 4th May. It will be the third year in succession the sides have met in Championship competition. The sides contested the 2015 Intermediate final in Kenny Park and both sides made their Senior B Championship debut at the Pearse Stadium last year. Abbeyknockmoy have successfully frustrated Mágh Cuilinn on both previous occasions so Mágh Cuilinn will be hoping for a change in fortunes in this fixture. Abbeyknockmoy lost to Kilnadeema Leitrim on their last outing while Mágh Cuilinn claimed a point with a last minute score from their Salthill meeting with Athenry. Change comes to squads every year so it ironic that both our pictured protagonists are unlikely to feature this weekend, with Dan Kelly working abroad and John Culkin stepping back from playing duty with the Senior team.
