Senior Draw made with Mágh Cuilinn on the sidelines

The draws have just been made in the Salthill Hotel Senior Championship

Moycullen have a bye for the first two knockout rounds and are therefore not involved. Supporters no doubt will be keen to cast an eye over our prospective opponents in the group stages and there are certainly some encounters to look forward to. It's all to play for as the losers round will have either Portumna/Sarsfields or Athenry/Loughrea in it, so the second round could be tougher than the first for some. Indeed should the losers of those two ties be drawn in round two, one of four big guns would be out the championship early and battling relegation. In general most of the ties are hard to call. There will probably a number of double headers over two days, so a great weekend's hurling is in prospect.

1. St. Thomas v Gort

2. Portumna v Sarsfields

3. Padraig Pearses v Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry

4. Mullagh v Craughwell

5. Beagh v Clarinbridge

6. Turloughmore v Liam Mellows

7. Kiltormer v Castlegar

8. Athenry v Loughrea

9. Carnmore v Tommie Larkins

10. Kinvara v Ardrahan

For those with a nostalgic interest in the Intermediate championship the Finnerty Plant Hire Intermediate Hurling Championship was as follows;

1. Athenry v Ahascragh-Fohenagh

2. Meelick-Eyrecourt v Annaghdown

3. Killimor v Gort

4. Rahoon-Newcastle v Clarinbridge

5. Oranmore-Maree v Killimordaly

6. Cappataggle v Kilbeacanty

7. Kilconieron v Abbeyknockmoy

8. Kilnadeema-Leitrim v Ballindereen

Killimordaly and Oranmore-Maree must be groaning as they met three times last year and that is probably the stand out tie of the draw.
