CIMC have accepted an invitation to compete in the Ratoath All Ireland Eleven's on All Ireland Saturday. The Senior team are looking ahead to the County Senior Shield Quarter Final and with litle competition available at the moment, it is an opporyunity for our Senior players to get some badly needed game time.

The last time Galway were in the All Ireland final in 2005, the club competed at the St Jude's All Ireland Sevens as champions from the previous year. The invite then stemmed from it being Joe Clavin's old club. This time the invitation is as reigning Connacht Intermediate champions.

The 11-a-side competition allows a squad of 15 and the games are 10 mins a side. The competition guarantees each team three games with the number of teams likely to be 16 in 4 groups of four.

A selection of the confirmed teams to date include:

Colligan (Waterford), Kilconieron (Galway), Ballyhaunis (Mayo), Ballyhea (Cork), Celbridge (Kildare), St John’s (Antrim), Knockbridge (Louth), Ratoath (Meath) and Mágh Cuilinn of course.

Group Games get underway on Saturday 8th at 10.30am. There is a lunch and recovery break from 1.30pm to 4.30pm when the semifinals take place. The final is scheduled for 5.45pm with presentations at 7.00pm.
