To close out the years activities the Juvenile Club combined the annual Pagett Cup and Shield (U12), The George Walsh Cup (U14) and the Morgan Darcy Cup (U16) in a Hurling Day extravaganza on 9th November 2014. A strong attendance of players, coaches and supporters enjoyed a wonderful day of high standard hurling in glorious winter sunshine.

Games commenced at 11am with 4 teams competing in the Pagett Cup semi finals which were played simultaneously in adjacent pitches. The County U14 Champions then took to the field to compete in the George Walsh Cup where Oran McLaughlin’s team finished the stronger in a highly competitive game. Next on the agenda was the Pagett Shield which was battled out to the end with Eanna Davoren collecting the Shield on behalf of his team. This was followed by the Pagett Cup, another intense game with both teams very evenly matched. This game went down to the wire with Kevin Walsh’s team taking the victory in the dying minutes. Finally it was the U16 County Champions that closed out the days events with a high energy tussle for the Morgan Darcy Cup. With that never say never attitude Tim McDonaghs team didn’t surrender and were duly awarded by securing the win in the final minute of the game.

Throughout the day everyone enjoyed the great skills performed by every player while Sandwiches, cakes and Tea poured out of the Clubhouse to fuel our energy.

In the Clubhouse Juvenile Chairman Aodh Davoren gave thanks to players, parents, coaches, supporters, sponsors and everyone who made the day and year a great success. The Pagett Shield winners were presented with medals while winners of the Pagett Cup, George Walsh Cup and Morgan Darcy Cup were all presented with new sliotars.
