Another Big Win for Junior C team

It remains to be seen whether the County Board have erred in classifying Mágh Cuilinn in the Junior C1 division as they inflicted another heavy defeat on their Group opponents. Mágh Cuilinn were in Junior B two years ago albeit not with much success surviving three consecutive relegation playoffs in 2008, 2009 and 2010, which was why Junior C was opted for last year. However in the division of Junior C in 2012, Mágh Cuilinn appear to have been positioned in the lower classification. It remain to be seen whether future opponents, Craughwell, Athenry, Ballygar, Michael Breathnachs and Annaghdown are better matched. The game against Tuam started competitvely with Tuam leading 4 point to two in the opening minutes. Even when, Frank Enright moved in from centre forward to finish a shot which rebounded high off the post, they recovered to draw level again. However, once Kevin O'Donovan scrambled a second goal and Mágh Cuilinn opened a six point margin the gaps began to open. Frank Enright went on spree, scoring a second goal from a goalkeepers parry, a third with a reprise of his overhead pull against Bearna/Na Forbacha and fourth old fashioned hanging inside for the handy one. Three points from frees were added for good measure. Multiple points from Shane Barrett, Michael Hurney, David Bohan, Michael Dempsey, Ian Noone, Luke Bohan ; one for a second game from John Faherty out of defence and a final goal from David Bohan left the halftime score at 6-12 to 0-05.
Tuam did manage to stabilise the situation in the second half although Conor Kyne had a late cameo to score another goal and leave the final score at 7-17 to 0-08 points.
