On Friday evening, Pairc Maigh Cuilinn was a sea of green & white as forty of our eager and enthusiastic Under 10 hurlers participated in their first go-game of the year. The opponents, Clarenbridge, were late arriving for the throw-in and our boys were getting anxious, but when the whistle blew & the ball was thrown in, all their anxiety disappeared and they provided us with an exhibition of hurling.
Due to the large numbers, the U10 Coaches had to rotate our players so that everyone got a game. Well done lads, it wasnt an easy task but ye made it look easy. Moycullen played two games and due to the late start, it was almost 9pm when we left the pitch ... tired and hungry, but exhilarated. Well done to all the players and thanks to all involved in arranging the games, to the referees, coaches and to all our supporters. A particular thank you to Caoimh for his patience and encouragement to each and every one of his young players as they flocked around him, looking to get on the team and play in the match.
The OCEAN HYGIENE Under 10 hurling go-games/mini blitzes run from May to July/August. Moycullen are in GROUP A and have six more games to play in their group - Salthill-Knocknacarra (A), Turloughmore (A), Athenry (H), Carnmore (A), Craughwell (H) and Castlegar (A). As per other years, any home games will be played on Friday evenings during our normal training session times but the away matches may be played at weekends. Webtexts will issue from the club with details of dates & venues.
If you are experiencing difficulty receiving webtexts or wish to be removed from the group, please contact Caroline Kearns on 0878284305.
