Stopwatch television production company have been commissioned by RTE to make a series of ten sporting inserts for the young people's programme Elev8. Over the ten mini programmes 6 sporty kids, who excel at diffferent sports, will compete for the Elev8 Superstar title - having to take part in a different challenge per programme e.g obstacle courses, zorbing, swimming etc. The competition will be filmed over two days, December 10th and 11th, in the University of Limerick and in their adventure center off campus. It should be a great experience and brilliant fun for everyone involved!
What Stopwatch were searching for was a boy or girl aged between 10 and twelve who has a few accolades to boast about, has a great personality, no fear of heights and can swim under water. An interest in other sports would be an advantage but not essential. They need to be very outgoing as they will have to talk to camera.
Out of the group who attended for interviews on camera last Friday, we are delighted to say that Stopwatch have chosen our own Tom O'Connor from Tooreeny (or Tom the Bomb as he seems to be known to most). Tom was one of those ther representing the hurling club and County Galway when he he heads for Limerick next weekend. Best of luck to Tom.
