Schools in Mágh Cuilinn prepare for competitions

Following the recent INTO Mini sevens event in Baile Doite our schools are getting ready for 13-a-side and 11-a-side competition in the Cumann na mBunscoil championship. Under the watchful eye of their teachers and CIMC Schools Coach, Kenneth Clancy, we wish all our schools teams every success although there can only be one winner between Tullykyne, Baile Nua and Tuairíní as they are all drawn together.

Calendar of Events

Round 1: To be played on or before 19/04/2013

Round 2: To be played on or before 03/05/2013

Round 3: To be played on or before 10/05/2013

Round 4: To be played on or before 17/05/2013

Play-offs to be played by 24/05/2013

Finals: Wednesday 12th June, 2013

Venue: Carrabane Pitch

Where a group has 6 teams: Split into two groups of 3 teams;

A Day 1 Blitz:

Three teams come together and play a blitz in an agreed venue with the winning team proceeding to the third and final day blitz.

B Day 2 Blitz:

The losing two teams from each of the first day Blitzes meet for the second Day Blitz.

C Day 3 Blitz:

The two winning teams from Day 1 Blitz plus the first and second placed teams from Day 2 blitz come together for semi-final and final. The winning team goes through the Roinn final.

Duration of Games: 20 minutes per half.

N.B: In all blitzes when teams end up with the same number of points extra time should be played.

This should greatly reduce travelling costs and time out of school.
