Connacht Hurling Final Fixed
Post date: Nov 5, 2011 12:01:14 AM
Mágh Cuilinn will face Four Roads of Roscommon in the Connacht Intermediate Club Hurling Final on Sunday 13th November in Athleague. Athleague is midway between Ballygar and Roscommon on the main Galway/Roscommon road. Take an immediate left on entering the village and the ground is to be found about half a mile further on opposite a large Kepak facility. Direction is toward Creggs
Four Roads defeated Athleague in the Roscommon Senior final but are allowed to compete in the Intermediate Championship as a weaker county. On the Bank Holiday, while Moycullen were celebrating their famous County Cup victory, Four Roads were squeezing past Mayo champions, Ballyhaunis with a 2-11 to 1-13. A last minute goal from a 30m free snatched a last gasp victory for Four Roads. On their home patch again for the third time in four weeks, the Roscommon side are sure to give our lads a stern test as the Roscommon champions have done to each previous Galway Intermediate team in Connacht.
The venue is about 50 miles from Moycullen village.
